SPONSORS WHO HAVE HELPED THE SCCYSL
The SCCYSL is extremely grateful to the National Rifle Association Foundation for supporting our organization through the awarding of grants. The NRAF has funded fourteen projects during the last fourteen years. Our first project was funded to start a high power rifle team. The funds helped us to purchase five Rock River A2 NM rifles in .223 caliber and five Celestron spotting scopes. The high power team is described elsewhere under the "Competition" heading. The NRAF also funded the purchase of a digital projector, a projection screen and twenty-five educational DVDs relating to the shooting sports. These DVD's are shown on Monday evenings for our youngsters to watch and learn from as they wait their turn on the firing line. The system is also used to present the NRA Basic Rifle Course to our members and the public. In addition, the SCCYSL was awarded a grant to purchase 20 round rifle magazines, slings, shooting coats, shooting gloves, data books and gun carts for the High Power Rifle Team. A fourth grant funded a Promatic Harrier trap machine for our Shotgun Program. A fifth grant was awarded to assist the SCCYSL in making our Instructors the best that we can be to serve our youngsters. A sixth grant was for the purchase of a second Promatic trap machine with the ability to throw clay pigeons at different angles. The seventh grant, awarded in 2014, was for the purchase of five Ruger Mark III semiautomatic pistols to allow the SCCYSL to start a pistol shooting program. An eighth grant from the NRAF was used for the purchase of ammunition for our High Power Rifle Team and our Trap Teams. A ninth grant application was approved to replace some of our older firearms that have seen many years of use. A tenth NRAF Grant was received in 2017 for a resupply of small bore and shotgun ammunition. Our 11th NRAF Grant was received for new shooting equipment for the SCCYSL small bore rifle program. A twelfth grant was used to purchase two Beretta 12 ga. semiautomatic shotguns for the Trap team. Our thirteenth grant was for the purchase of one Beretta 12 ga. semiautomatic shotguns for the Trap team. The Trap Team now has a full compliment of shotguns for a five person team. Our fourteenth consecutive grant in 2022 was for ten Mantis 10X Shooting diagnostic accelero-meters and an Orion automatic target scoring system. Our 15th consecutive grant was an ammunition replenishment of 25,000 rounds of .22 long rifle cartridges and 2500 12 ga. shotgun shells. Grant number 16 was for five Rock Island Armory M14Y 22 caliber youth rifles to bridge the weight gap between our Cricket rifles and the EAA marksman rifles. We greatly appreciate the support of the NRAF.
We are also very grateful to the Atglen Sportsmen's Club, Inc. who have been invaluable in allowing the SCCYSL to achieve its many goals. ASC permits the SCCYSL to use it's indoor and outdoor range facilities.
Dr. William Stegeman was a staunch supporter of the SCCYSL for 20 years before his passing.
The SCCYSL would also like to acknowledge the following sponsors who have donated materials, literature and finances to foster the goals of the League. We urge our members and other members of the shooting community to show their appreciation of these supporters.
